Edward Collin Smith, Sr., 55, of Louisa, Virginia departed this life on Sunday, April 22, 2007 at the University of Virginia Hospital Charlottesville, Virginia. He was born August 9, 1951 to Bernice Melton Smith and the late Richard E. Smith. Edward attend Louisa County public schools and completed his education in Chicago, and worked in the construction industry. He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Smith of Louisa; three sons, Barney Ray Smith of Richmond, Virginia; Edward C. Smith, Jr., of Louisa, and Brandon T. Smith of Goldsboro, N.C.; his mother, Bernice M. Smith; grandmother, Mamie M McKeathon; mother-in-law, Carrie A. Shelton; three brothers Richard L. Smith, Jr., Kenneth A. Smith, Sr., Marcus K. Smith, Sr., four sisters, Brenda S. Quarles (Phillip), Rosetta S. Burruss ( Charles), Lorna S. Stevens and Sylvia S. Quarles (Albert); brother-in-law, William H. Shelton, Jr. (Janice); uncles, Matt E. Smith, Sr., Harry M Smith, Sr., Larry L. Smith, Sr. and Robert C. Rucker; three aunts, Nora S. Robinson, Ada S. Whitley and Jeraldine Chadler and a devoted friend Vanessa Thompson and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Holt, Sr., officiating. Interment will follow in the Mckeathon Family Cemetery.
