He joined Shady Grove Baptist Church at an early age. He attended church regularly and was an active member of several ministries of the church. He served on the Trustee Board, sang with the Shady Grove Male Chorus and was faithfully helping to beautify the church with his handiwork. Not only did he attend his own church, but faithfully supported other churches in the community.
