Edward "June" Hill Richardson, Jr. was born on May 11, 1941 to the late Edward, Sr. and Elvia Richardson in Louisa, VA. Edward peacefully departed this life on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James Jutus Booker, Sr.; grandparents, Vivian and Eleanor Richardson; uncles, Howard, Roy, Scott and Harry Richardson.
Edward attended Louisa County Public Schools where he graduated from A.G. Richardson High School in 1962. Upon graduation, he moved to Washington, D.C. and began working as a stone and bricklayer. Upon relocating to Louisa, he started Richardson's Masonry. Richardson's Masonry stone and brickwork is evidenced of numerous houses built on Lake Anna which is known as Lake Anna Estates.
He joined Shady Grove Baptist Church at an early age. He attended church regularly and was an active member of several ministries of the church. He served on the Trustee Board, sang with the Shady Grove Male Chorus and was faithfully helping to beautify the church with his handiwork. Not only did he attend his own church, but faithfully supported other churches in the community. He was also a member of the Louisa Temple Lodge 113 and held the positions Junior Deacon and Tiler and past Worshipful Master.
June leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, Lola Mallory Richardson; three sons, Edward, III (Wanda) of Orange, VA, Jeffrey (Teresa) of Louisa and Rodney Richardson of Washington, D. C.; two brothers Vivian Scott Richardson of Louisa, and Maurice Kelly of Maryland and one sister, Jackie Rawlings of Connecticut; four aunts, Mary Jean Comfort, Nan Quarles, Ruth McGhee and Agnes Thomas; three uncles, Lee Richardson, Jack Richardson and Romano Richardson; seven grandchildren, Shirlitta and Alisha Richardson and Alexis Miller; three grandsons, Edward "EJ", Jeffrey "LT": Devin (Ariel) Richardson and Chase Miller. He was a loving stepfather to Kimberly Miller (Ty) of Louisa, VA, Delphine Timberlake of Spotsylvania, VA, Gwendolyn Potts, Karen and Charlotte Timberlake of Maryland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and members of the Sharpshooter Hunt Club (Orange VA).
Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, July 14, 2017 at Shady Grove Baptist Church 21024 Piney Wood Road Orange, VA 22960 with Rev. Temple Anderson, Sr., Officiating and Rev. Joseph A. Moore eulogist.
Burial, with Masonic rites will follow in the church cemetery.
