Edward Raleigh Johnson, 84, died Saturday, May 19, 2007, at the Manorcare Health Services Imperial of Richmond, Virginia. He was born April 20, 1923 to the late Samuel "Sam" M. Johnson, Sr., and Dorothy Blake Johnson in West Virginia. He was married to the late Marion W. Ware Johnson. Mr. Johnson is survived by two sisters, Edna C. Johnson Sharpe and Juanita I. Johnson, both of Queens, N.Y.; two brothers, Robert W. Johnson, Sr. of Capitol Heights, MD and Samuel M. Johnson, Jr. of Mineral, VA; two sisters-in-law, Ruth B. Johnson of Jacksonboro, SC and Mae Johnson of Capitol Heights, MD; one aunt, Cora Johnson of Philadelphia, PA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Laurel Hill Baptist Church in Mineral, VA. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Barry Carpenter officiating.
