Edgar Jerome "Jerry" Franklin Bradshaw, 70, departed this life for the glories of Heaven on February 5, 2015. He entered in fully redeemed and fully loved by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and all who knew him truly.
Born in Washington, D.C., March 1, 1944, to Edgar Franklin Sr. and Ruth Miller Smith, he and his beloved brother, Jackie, were lovingly reared by Deacon Burns and Edith Bradshaw. Jerry was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1962 and spent most of his working life as a mechanic, truck driver, and a tour bus chauffer.
He had a passion for restoring old cars and photography, but was best known for his hobby of creating miniature models of cities and towns. He took great care and pride in "Franklintown" and "Bradshawville" of which he built to be viewed most accurately with a magnifying glass.
He accepted Christ as a young child under the care of the Bradshaws and County Line Baptist Church in Goochland, Va. and reaffirmed this awesome relationship in his later years.
Missing his quick wit and dry sense of humor, are his sons, Kim Bradshaw of Kentucky and Kevin Bradshaw of New Jersey; his daughters, Melody Gillison-Jackson(Aleck), Tracy "Lisa" Bradshaw, Minster Michelle Gillison-Robinson (Dr. Joseph), all of Virginia, and Tammy Bradshaw-Jarman (Wayne) of New Jersey; his proud brood of 28 grandchildren and 38 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends, especially his card playing buddies at Epworth Manor Senior Community in Louisa, Va.
A celebration of his life will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Galilee Baptist Church, 3598 Three Notch Rd., Kents Store, Va. 23084.
