Obituary

Listen to Obituary
Eddie Lee Shelton of Orange, Virginia departed from our presence and entered into eternal rest this past Monday, only one day shy of his 58th birthday. He was born March 22, 1958 to Martha Bell Shelton and the late Allen Lewis Shelton. He was preceded in death by his father; his nephew, Wayne Waddy, and dear friend, Floyd Clark.

Eddie joined County Line Baptist Church at a young age and graduated from Louisa County Public Schools. He moved to Northern Virginia where he worked in the construction industry for several years and later served as a proud custodian at Spotsylvania County Public Schools. Eddie then returned closer to home where he worked at Klockner Penplast until he suffered a back injury which led to an early retirement.

He will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him including his loving mother, Martha Shelton of Orange, VA; one daughter who shares his middle name, Di'Andra Leigh Coleman of Charlotte, NC; one aunt, Rev. Pearl Mallory of Washington, DC; one brother, Wayne Payne of Mineral, VA; four sisters, Deanna Waddy of Kents Store, VA, Amanda Payne of Mineral, VA, Martha Ann Shelton of Gordonsville, VA and Pearl Saunders of Louisa, VA; two nephews, Maurice Shelton of Charlottesville, VA and Clarence Waddy of Kents Store, VA; four nieces, Quiana Clark of Richmond, VA, Kendra Liggins of Emporia, VA, LaBrae Payne (goes by Latisha Payne) of Mineral, VA; and Chelsea Waddy of Louisa, VA; three brothers-in-law, Lewis Waddy, Barry Holland, and Roger Saunders; his devoted friends, Ms. Jane Lewis of Orange, VA, James and Shenell Porter, Shirley Williams, Pearl Coleman, Delphine Timberlake, Lewis Shelton, Bryant Williams, Rashawn Williams, and a host of other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.

Eddie was well known for his love of reggae music and for constantly cleaning his vehicle and shining his tires. We will always remember him by his inviting smile, his caring nature, his long conversations. Take your rest, brother. We love you!

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016 in The Sun Chapel at D. D. Watson with Rev. Temple Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Waddy Family cemetery Kents Store, Virginia.
