Earline Alice Ragland Bishop was born on January 20, 1930 in Louisa County, Virginia to loving parents, the late John Wesley Ragland and Earline Lewis Ragland Maupin. She entered eternal rest on October 3, 2014 at 12:08 a.m., in the comfort of her home in Bowie, Maryland surrounded by her love ones.

Alice was one of 14 children and learned very early the importance of church, family, and hard work. Alice was wedded to the late George H. Bishop and from this union was born 12 children: Lillian Holt, Brenda Bishop-Udell, Betty Sherrill, Marilyn Carter, Joan Foster, Audrey Brooks, Mark Bishop, Gary Bishop, Rita Jenoure, and Phillip Bishop. Merrill Bishop and Paul Bishop proceeded her in death.

Homegoing services will be held at The House of God, 5442 Columbia Road, Gordonsville, Virginia 22942 on Tuesday, October 7, 2014; viewing at 10:00 a.m. followed by service at 11:00 a.m.
