Earl Donner Willoughby, 75, an Army veteran of Charlottesville, Virginia died October 8, 2008, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. Mr. Willoughby was born August 13, 1933 in Louisa County. He received his formal education at Louisa Training School. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined the First Baptist church under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. Robert Ellis.
Earl was a fun loving, compassionate person. He always wore a pleasant smile and was available to give assistance at a moment's notice. He joined the U.S. Army just out of high school for two years after which he moved to Philadelphia, Pa with other family members, where he modeled for several years. He then moved to New York City, where he worked for the Department of Social Services until he retired and returned to reside in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Mr. Willoughby is survived by one brother Thomas Willoughby and his wife Beverly of Philadelphia, PA; one sister June Mahmood of Queens Village, New York.
, three nieces; Antoinette Gadson and her husdand John of Norfolk, Virginia; Shelly Smalls of Arlington, Virginia; Brigette Waites of Yeadon, PA; two nephews Keith Smalls and his wife Charmain of Norfolk, Virginia, and Nevarus Bowles of St. Thomas, VI; three great nieces and five great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. we are grateful to GOD for having given us a life that was liked and loved. He left us with a legacy of many blessed memories.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2008 at First Baptist Church 102 Meadows Avenue Louisa, Virginia with the Rev. Dr. Thomas J. Wooden, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemtery.
