On Thursday, July 3, 2008, the Lord called one of his angels home. Dorothy Mae Shelton, 86, of Kents Store, VA departed from this world at the Evergreen Nursing Home in Stanardsville, VA. She was born, May 19, 1922 in Fluvanna County. Fluvanna County is also where she received her education. She joined the Galilee Baptist Church at a young age and remained a dutiful servant until her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Shelton, Sr. and Alice Irving Shelton, her brothers; Samuel, James Jr., Charlie, Casi, Arthur and Frank, and sister, Pomelia Shelton. She is survived by one brother, Lewis Shelton, Sr. and his wife Alberta, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dorothy Mae Shelton was a very loving person and will be missed by all. Our thanks go out to the Evergreen Nursing Home and Hospice of the Piedmont.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Galilee Baptist Church, 3598 Three Notch Road (RR 250E & RR 208), Ferncliff, Virginia. with the Reverend Dr. Charles H. Sims, Sr., officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
