Dorothy Johnson Sellers, wife of the late Edward Sellers, was born in Louisa County on June 7, 1925 to the late Thomas Johnson and Mary Brown Johnson. After retirement from the Louisa Manufacturing Company, Mrs. Sellers worked part time for eight years at the Fabric Hut in Louisa. She was a Commonwealth of Virginia Board Certified Beautician and a great seamstress.
She served for many years as the corresponding secretary for the Louisa Training School Association (LTSA) for which she previously held the position of recording secretary. At Bright Hope Baptist Church, she had served as the Sunday School secretary, an usher and was in charge of the kitchen. Her survivors include her devoted friends: Lawrence and Beverly Jackson, Richard and Tina Finley and Charlotte King. She is also survived by four nieces, Joyce Murray, J.Demetriss "Demmie" Murray, Jusolyn Murray Bradshaw and Ceiceli Bradshaw; three nephews, Bobby Murray, Gary (Betsy) Johnson and Cecil Bradshaw; sister-in-law, Mary B. Johnson; cousins, Ella Marie McLean, Thelma Brown, Walter Brown and Frank (Gloria) Hill and many friends, especially her whole church family at Bright Hope Baptist Church. Mrs. Sellers, "Dot" as she was affectionately called, will be missed for her spontaneous laughter, her love for sewing and showing off her beautiful fashion creations. A Celebration of her Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2007 at the First Baptist Church, 102 Meadow Ave Louisa, Va 23093, with the Reverend Alonzo Minor officiating. Interment will follow in the Bright Hope Church Cemetery Louisa.
