Dorothy Jean "Dot" Cromwell, 68, of Louisa, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012 at her residence.
Dot was born March 23, 1943 in Louisa County to the late Lee Ragland and Rosa B. Johnson Ragland.
She retired from the University of Virginia and was a member of Foster Creek Baptist Church, Louisa,VA.
Dot was a wonderful person and has touched so many hearts along her journey of life.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cromwell;
two brothers, Roy Lee & George Ragland and one sister Iris Athey.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Kimberly Cromwell,
and her friend Bruce; one granddaughter, Latoya and her friend Sheba; one grandson, Devonte; a devoted friend, Nathaniel Thompkins "Moon" all of
Louisa,VA; five brothers, Owen Ragland and his wife Jesteane of Chesterfield,VA, MacArthur Ragland and his wife Virginia, James Ragland, Herbert Ragland and Charles Ragland all of Louisa,VA; two sisters, Lucille Johnson and her husband George, and Audrey Scott and her husband Earl all of Louisa,VA and one sister-in-law, Dora Louise Ragland.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2012 at Foster Creek Baptist Church, Louisa,VA with Rev. Michael R. Crawley, Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow in the Ragland Family Cemetery.
