Dorothy Mae (Bigtime) Butler, 56 departed this life on the evening of Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at her home in Mineral, Virginia. Dorothy was born on May 9, 1952, the daughter of the late Otis Sr. and Lydia Henson.

Dorothy joined Rising Sun Baptist Church at an early age. She was a member of the Workshop Choir. She was preceded in death by a son, Clarence Butler, Jr. a sister, Mildred Ann Green and the late Clarence Henry Butler.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Pattie Butler of Bumpass, VA and Nakia (Gregory) Johnson of Bumpass, VA; two sons, Wayne (Demeka) Butler, Sr. of Louisa, and Devon (Michelle) Butler of Waynesboro, VA; a devoted adopted-daughter, Sallie Moore of Chesterfield, VA; three sisters, Shirley Mills, Jennett (Michael) Brown, Mary (William) Jackson, all of Mineral, VA; four brothers, Otis (Theresa) Henson, Jr. of Louisa VA, Melvin (Esther) Henson of Ashland, VA, Bruce (Lori) Henson of Culpeper, VA, Earl (Kimberly) Henson of Chester, VA; five aunts, Annie Moore of Washington, DC, Virginia Taylor of Mineral, VA and Thelma Jones of Petersburg, VA, Loretta Henson and a devoted aunt and friend Dorothy Henson, both of Mineral, VA; nine grandchildren; a god daughter, Jenay Brown; one devoted sister-in-law and friend, Alreatha Butler of Louisa; sister-in-law, Gracie (Joe) Taylor of Bumpass, VA; two devoted friends, Thomas Braxton, Sr. of Louisa, VA and Vincent Braxton of Culpeper, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on August 16, 2008 at Rising Sun Baptist Church, Mineral Virginia with the Reverend Frederick Sales, officiating. Interment will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Mineral, Virginia.
