Deloris Elizabeth Green Thompson , affectively known as "Lou" was call from labor to rest and rewarded on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Bradford Oaks in Clinton, Maryland surrounded by her loving family. Lou was born on October 19, 1945, to the late Maggie Green and Fred Morton in Mineral, Virginia. She was the second oldest of five children. Her brothers, Preston (Mack) Green and Jesse (Toby) Green preceded her in death.
At an early age Lou accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was baptized at the Rising Sun Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. John Tyler. Lou attended and graduated from Louisa County Public School. She was employed at Louisa Manufactory as a seamstress for several years before moving to Maryland. After relocating to Maryland, she opened a home day care center which she cared for numerous children. To all the children, she was known as "Grandma and the kids." Lou decided to go back into the work force at the Department of State where she retired. After retirement she loved to travel to Casinos, loved family gatherings, cooking, puzzle books, and watching her favorite soap operas.
