Kents Store - Delores Mae Carter, age 68, gained her wings on July 23, 2024, in Charlottesville, Virginia. She was born on April 27, 1956, in Richmond, Virginia, to the legendary late Samuel Carter and her loving Mother Pearl Nell Taylor. Delores was a beloved sister, devoted aunt, and friend who brought warmth and joy to the lives she touched.
Delores found solace in the serene halls of Goochland County Public Schools, where she received her education. She cherished her school days in Goochland, Virginia, creating treasured memories and lifelong friendships.
In her leisure time, Delores reveled in the simple pleasures of life. She nurtured the earth through her love for gardening, found peace along rivers and lakes while fishing, delighted in the hunt for treasures and good deals at local yard sales and thrift stores and found Fulfillment on the farm where she grew up was something she cherished. The land and farm animals were important to her, and she undisputably helped her brother Michael take care of it. Dee was no stranger to hard work.
Professionally, Delores worked diligently as a Trimmer at Tysons Foods from 1978 to 2021 when she officially retired from the company after serving 43 years. Her dedication and commitment were evident, and she was admired for her work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
Delores embodied selflessness, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her innate kindness and selflessness were hallmarks of her character, and she radiated warmth, love, and support to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She always found time for those she loved. Delores was the true backbone of the Carter family.
Delores is preceded in death by her parents, devoted father Samuel Carter, and adored mother Pearl Nell Carter, as well as her dear sister, Shirley Ann Carter, and her brother, Samuel Carter Jr.
She is remembered by her loving sister Lisa Carter and her brother, Michael Carter, both natives of Goochland, Virginia. Delores also leaves behind her cherished niece, Alexis Carter, who held a special place in her heart akin to that of a daughter. Delores also played a significant role in the upbringing of her younger nieces and nephews: Jacob Carter, EJ Bellamy, Arnez Bellamy, and Kamya Carter. Delores also leaves to cherish her memory, a host of many other Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
Delores Mae Carter will forever remain in the hearts and memories of those who knew and loved her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on through the indelible memories she leaves behind. May she rest in eternal peace.
