Debra Ann Johnson Jackson of Chesterfield, Virginia slipped peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, April 22, 2022, at her home.

Debra was born to the late Clyde Johnson, Sr., and Carrie Lee Johnson, on August 15, 1965, in Kershaw County, South Carolina. They later moved to Lee County, South Carolina where she grew up.

Debra graduated in 1983 from Ashwood Central/Bishopville High School. She then attended Sumter Technical School in Sumter South Carolina, where she advanced her education in the areas of Business and Accounting. Debra worked for E.R. Carpenter for a little more than 15 years, until her health prevented her from continuing.

Debra was a proud woman who was dedicated to her family and was a loving wife to Raymond. They were married on June 26, 1987. From that union came a son and a daughter, both of whom Debra cherished.

Debra was a strong woman of God. She joined Union Baptist Church of Rembert, South Carolina at an early age. After moving to Virginia, together with Raymond, she joined St. Paul's Baptist Church in Richmond, VA and were faithful members. She enjoyed her church family and loved serving as an usher. During the pandemic, she regularly watched the Sunday service at home.

Debra was described by family and friends as a "sweet spirit'' who was kind, generous and one who delighted others with her sweet smile. She truly enjoyed the time she shared with family and close friends. Debra was not a big talker, but, when she spoke, it was clear, concise, and she meant every word. During her prolonged medical challenges, Debra never complained or questioned why.

When time allowed, Debra loved going shopping and attending craft shows and festivals. The Southern Women's Show at the Raceway was her favorite. Debra would often spend time with her mother-in-law, Lillian Jackson, and she would also be a companion during her illness.

Debra leaves to cherish her memory, the love of her life, Raymond Jackson, Jr.; son, Jonathan Jackson and daughter, Taylor Jackson. She also leaves to cherish her memory, two brothers, Clyde Johnson, Jr of Chesterfield, VA, Stanley Johnson (Corrine) of Sumter, South Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Tirish Stith, of South Chesterfield, VA and Nichole Johnson of Chesterfield, VA; two brothers-in-law, William Jackson (Monica) of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Vernon Williams, Sr. of Chester, Virginia; three special nieces, Allyssa Johnson, Amaiya Johnson of Richmond, Virginia and Shade Johnson of Sumter, South Carolina; two uncles, Joseph (Jay Bird) and Luke (Billy) of Alston, Sumter, South Carolina; devoted cousin, Sharon P. Mickle of Richmond, Virginia; best friend, Anna Dyer of Richmond, Virginia, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 1, 2022 from 5-7:00 pm in The Sun Chapel at D. D. Watson, Louisa; face masks will be required.

Graveside services will be held 1:00pm Monday, May 2, 2022 at Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newbys Bridge Road, Chesterfield, Virginia 23832.
