Deborah Gale Richardson departed this life after battling a long illness on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Inova Alexandria Hospital in Alexandria,Virginia. She was born September 4, 1957 in Louisa,Virginia to Frances G. Richardson and the late Theodore P. Richardson.
She received her education in the Washington, DC public schools. At a later age, she returned to Louisa,Virginia to live with her grandparents, the late Philip and Ruby Richardson.. She joined Springfield Baptist Church and later frequently attended Mt. Gilliam Old Site Baptist Church. After moving to Charlottesville, Virginia, she attended the First Church of Charlottesville under the leadership of Rev. Rufus Hayes.
Besides her father and grandparents, she was predeceased by a brother, Brando Richardson.
Deborah's passion was caring for children which led her to provide care for more than twenty children until her health began to fail. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt and niece.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her beloved daughter, LaDwana "Nikki", granddaughters, Laqwanza Richardson and Asheauna Pryor; mother, Frances G. Richardson; brother, Theodore B. Richardson and wife, Lesa; devoted friend, Kelvin Hackney; three aunts, Julia and her husband, Willie Cooley, Charlotte King and Helen Morris; three uncles, David Richardson and his wife, Betty; Eusaw Richardson and his wife, Marie and Earnest Richardson; aunt-in-law, Eleanor Alston; nephew, Marlon Richardson; niece, Whitney Richardson and a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Mt. Gilliam Baptist Church(Old Site)4161 Chalklevel Road Louisa, Virginia 23093. Interment will be in the church cemetery with Rev. Sherman W. Thomas, officiating.
