Daniel Wilson Buckner, 58 of Washinging, DC formerly of Louisa, Virginia, was born February 4, 1950 in Mineral Virginia. He was baptized at Laurel Hill Baptist Church and attended Z.C Morton School in Louisa Virginia. Wilson, as he was lovingly called, was a sportsman, one who loved to fish and hunt and enjoy the outdoors. He lived in Pennsylvania for a while working with his sister Gladys in the restaurant business and later moved to Washington to work with his brother David in the landscaping business. Wilson worked for MTI Construction as a heavy equipment operator until he retired due to illness.
Daniel Wilson Buckner was called home to rest on August 20, 2008 to be with our saviour Jesus Christ. He was the son of the late David and Alice Buckner. He was preceded in death also by his brothers, Phillip, Frank, Thomas and Johnny Buckner.
He is survived by his son Daniel Buckner Jr., two daughters Ashley Buckner and Alicia Buckner; brothers Monroe Buckner (Bonnie), Richard Buckner (Theresa), David Buckner Jr.(Barbara), Charles Buckner and James Buckner; sisters Gladys Adams (Ryland) Ruthann Shelton(Curtis), Christine Whittaker, Janice Shelton(William); a host of nieces and nephews and other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, August 28, 2008 at Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Frederick Sales officiating. Interment will follow in the Buckner Family Cemetery Mineral, Virginia.
