Curtis Junior Shelton (91) of Mineral, went into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 6, 2023.
Curtis was born to Eugene and Alice Mae Shelton on August 4, 1931. He married Julia Barney on June 7, 1952. His life as a laborer was seen at a number of sawmills. Curtis, Pop, no matter the nickname, was a wonderful man who dedicated his time to others. Although he was disabled, his weakness never showed. He loved fishing, playing and watching baseball games. He was full of joy. He shared laughter wherever he went. He was such a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Those who shared such times with him will miss him forever. Rest in peace, Curtie, you are home now.
Curtis is preceded in death by Eugene Shelton (father), Alice Mae Shelton (mother), Julia Barney-Shelton (wife), William Shelton (brother), Eugene Shelton (brother), Samuel Shelton (brother), Garfield Nelson (brother), Alice Barney (sister), and Clarence Shelton (son).
Curtis is survived by Curtis Shelton Jr. (Ruth) of Mineral, Charles Shelton (Freda) of Louisa, Leslie Shelton (Eve) of Louisa, Robbin Shelton of Mineral, Samuel Shelton (MaryAnn) of Mineral, Reginald Shelton Sr. (Lolita) of Mineral, Ronald Shelton (Bernice- deceased) of Louisa, Leslie Shelton (brother), Curtis Shelton III (C.J.), Charles Shelton Jr. (Nookie), Torrey Shelton, Ciara Gibson, Anthony Shelton, Sharell Hunter, Shaunta Hunter, Shelly Hunter, Reginald Shelton Jr. (R.J.), Duante Shelton, Daysia Shelton, Rahjir Shelton, and a host of great-grandkids, nieces, and nephews.
