Obituary of Corrina Delores Shirley Burrows

January 7, 1935 – June 20, 2026 Corrina Delores Shirley Burrows, affectionately known to all as "Lois," passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at her granddaughter’s home in Leesburg, Virginia.

Lois grew up in Virginia as one of ten siblings in a home built on faith and love. Her independent and determined spirit was evident early on, famously choosing to walk to church rather than arrive in her father's horse and wagon—beating the wagon there.

After graduating from George Washington Carver Regional High School, she spent time working in New York before settling in Washington, D.C. There, she married Alcrane Burrows and built a long, dedicated career with the Federal Government.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, John and Adae Mae Shirley; her husband, Alcrane; her daughter, Paula; and eight of her siblings.

Lois is survived by her brother, Charles Shirley, and her daughter, Clifadina (Dina) Jones. Her memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren, Kenyettia Jones, Ahmad Alexander, Jeremy Williams, and Shaniqua Jones; her great-grandchildren, Donavan Jones, Dyimond Osborne, Destiny Jones, Dynasti Jones-Lewis, Desire Jones-Lewis, Jeremy Williams Jr., Jamal Hunte, Sherise McGhee and her great-great-grandchildren, Ameerah Kelly, Matthew Kelly, Jaden Hunte, Jeremiah Hunte, Avah Jones and Harmony Osborne.
