Clydenia Patricia Shelton, lovingly known as Sister, made her mark on this world on October 19, 1950, in Louisa, VA, and lived a life that was as compassionate and humble as she was. Clydenia was a beacon of love and generosity, touching the lives of those around her in a way that will be remembered for years to come. Following a life of 75 cherished years in Mineral, Virginia, she made her peaceful transition on February 18, 2026.
Clydenia was a dedicated and hardworking woman who gave 30 faithful years to the Woolfolk clothing manufacturing plant, where she worked as an apparel production press operator. When the plant closed, her strong work ethic carried her to several other places of employment until declining health led to her retirement in 2003. Though she took great pride in her work, her true joy was found beyond her occupation. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, watching game shows, attending church when she could but most importantly, spending time with her children and grandchildren. It was this love for family that defined her. Her life was a living testament to the quote, "The love of a family is life's greatest blessing."
Clydenia leaves behind a loving family; her daughter, Chastity (George) Baskerville; son, Lance (Amanda) Shelton; grandkids, George Jr, Tristen, Ayreana, Lance, Mya, DeShaun, and Felicia; great-granddaughter Miyori; sisters, Karen Riddick and Tammy Foster; brother, Garland (Matilda) Foster. Clydenia was greeted in the afterlife by her parents John and Virginia Foster; brother, John affectionately known “Boo”Jr and husband, John Shelton.
In the words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Clydenia's kindness and love will forever be engraved in the hearts of her loved ones, leaving a lasting impact that exceeds her time on earth.
