Clyde Alvin Mitchell, passed away peacefully at his home in Louisa, Virginia on Sunday, March 1, 2015. He was the youngest of four children born to Frances and the late Floyd Mitchell.
Clyde was born October 10, 1956, in Louisa County. He received his education at Louisa County Public School, attended Technical school in Ohio and later received his CDL license. He began his passion for driving by driving the school bus for the Louisa County Public School. This lead to a 30 year career driving for various companies, the most recent for over 13 years at Country Vinter.
At an early age, Clyde joined the County Line Baptist Church under the pastorate of the Reverend Clark.
Clyde was preceded in death by his father, Deacon Floyd Mitchell, Sr.
Clyde leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Grace Mitchell of Louisa, VA; two sons, Tory Mitchell (Erin) of Maryland and Travis Mitchell of Hawaii ; daughter, Seija Wynn of Louisa, VA; his mother, Frances Mitchell of Louisa, VA; one brother, Floyd Mitchell Jr. (Brenda) of Louisa, VA; two sisters, Henrietta Presha of North Carolina , Julia Timberlake (Jewel) of Louisa, VA; three aunts, Alice Hankins of Vallejo, California, Reverend Evelyn Arnett of Fluvanna, VA and Addie Townsend of Goochland, VA; two grandchildren, Haley & Kevin Mitchell of Maryland; five stepchildren, Isaac Johnson (Rashae) of Richmond, VA, Leslie Diming (David) of Cumberland, VA, James Johnson (Murai) of Cumberland, VA, Darrell Johnson, & Bryant Clark, both of Cartersville, VA and eight step grandchildren, Tierra, David Jr., Jaelyin, Keyshawn, Soren, Brandon, Jacob & Kaedyin; six brother-in-laws, four sister-in-laws, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends.
Funeral services will held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7,2015 at County Line Baptist Church 4070 County Line Road Kents Store, Virginia 23084 with the Rev. Stevie M. Trent officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
