Cleveland Desper was born December 6, 1934 in Louisa, Virginia, to the late John Wilson Desper and Josephine Gooch Desper.
Cleveland received his education in the Louisa Public School System. Cleveland accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and joined the First Baptist Church, Louisa, Virginia.
Cleveland departed this life on February 3, 2017 at the Louisa Health and Rehab Center. Cleveland was preceded in death by brothers Rev. John H. Desper, Raymond and Sterlin Desper; sisters Mary Rollins and Lena Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memories three sisters: Nora Talley, Pearl Burruss of Louisa, Virginia, and Ada Hopewell of Goochland; a devoted niece Donna Bates (Rev. Austin G. Bates) of Louisa and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special thanks to Micheale Foulks, CNA and staff at the Louisa Health and Rehab Center.
Cleveland was employed at various sawmills and lumber yards throughout his life. Cleveland loved family, watching TV and listening to his radio. He also loved joking, playing and asking people for $5.00to buy his special little "treat".
Cleveland will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, February 10, 2016 in The Sun Chapel at D. D. Watson Louisa, with Rev. Austin G. Bates officiating. Interment will follow in the Desper Family Cemetery.
