It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Deaconess Clara "BB" Christmas-Aheart on February 1, 2023. BB was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Colleen Aheart; ex-husband, Daniel Edward Aheart Sr.; sisters, Jeanette Bishop, Edna Waddy, and Rena Garland; and her brothers, Elder Edward James, Steward Randolph, and Jerry Lee Christmas.
BB was the third of nine children born to the late James Edward and the late Cora Louise Christmas on July 24, 1940. From an early age, she was baptized at Foster Creek Baptist Church and grew up watching her mother make dinner rolls from scratch - quickly developing a love for baking. Her specialty was sweet potato pie.
BB retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Washington, D.C., with 25 years of service. After that, she relocated to Louisa County, Virginia, where she became a member of the Galilee Baptist Church. BB served as a Missionary, choir member, and praise and worship leader until she became ill.
BB is survived by her brother, Bishop Robert Christmas (Minister Alice); sister, Minister Flora Pace (Raymond); daughters, Donna, Darnita, Daniela, Charlotte, Alison; and one son, Daniel Aheart. In addition, she leaves 9 Grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2023 at Galilee Baptist Church with Elder Ruben Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT FACE MASKS ARE REQUIRED; THE CHURCH WILL NOT BE SUPPLYING ANY MASKS .
