Christopher Clark went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 19, 2026. He was surrounded by the staff at Pruitt Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fairburn, Georgia.

He was born on June 16, 1934. He was preceded in death by his parents; James C. Clark and Lannie Bland Clark, his siblings; Eliza Agnes Gunnell, Ethel Clark, Leevy Clark, Daisey C. Hearns, Deacon Wayne Clark, Sr.; his wives: Susie Robinson Clark and Barbara Clark.

Chris grew up in Stage Junction (now known as Columbia, Virginia) where he was educated at Rockcrest School.

He accepted Christ at an early age and began serving God at Byrd Grove Baptist Church, Kent’s Store, Virginia.

When Chris married Susie Robinson, he moved his membership to New Green Mountain Baptist Church, Esmont, Virginia. Upon leaving the Esmont area, he traveled from Richmond, Virginia to Washington, DC, working at gas stations until he ended up in New York with his sister Ethel. While in Westbury, New York, he joined First Baptist Cathedral Church and was a faithful member until he moved back to Charlottesville, Virginia to live with his brother Wayne. He rejoined New Green Mountain Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Margo Bruce.

Chris was employed by the New York State Department of Transportation as Maintenance #1. He was a member of the Masons Roman Lodge #12 in New York. He also owned Chris’s Towing Company. He loved to travel from state to state moving people locally or long distances.

Chris spent the past five years living with his brother Wayne. The Clark brothers were something else. They were here, there, and everywhere together. Eventually Chris moved to Douglasville, Georgia with his niece Myra and her husband Anthony.

Chris was a true man of God. He talked about the “Good Lord” as he referred to God all the time. He would say, “I’ll do what the good Lord says to do because He’s in charge.” During his last two weeks at Pruitt Health, he could be heard singing hymns and repeating the 23rd Psalm.

Chris leaves to cherish his memory, his nieces; Myra Turner (Anthony), Rochelle Clark-Alexander (Pastor Frank), Rev. Christina C. Chambers (Pastor Ernest), Janet Hearns, Shelia Clark, Pastor Mary Carey, Delores Terry, Frances Mihlan, Wanda Robinson, his nephews; Anrechio Hearns, Sr., James Hearns, Jr. (Edna), Dwayne Hearns, Alan Rodney Hearns, Paul Clark, Mellyn Reese, Wayne Clark, Jr., Jay Hearns, Dangure Robinson, Edward Anderson, Alexander Robinson, Pyae Lin, Sister in Love Deaconess Beatrice Clark and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Viewing will be from 1 - 2pm at the Church, Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 18,2026 at New Green Mountain Church 7259 Porters Road, Esmont, Virginia 22937.
