Charles Frances Hunter, 66, entered this earthly home on June 11, 1953 in Louisa County, Virginia. He was one of nine children born to his parents Ralph U. Houchens and Edith Hunter. Charles transitioned to begin his eternal rest on Monday, May 25, 2020 while surrounded by his family.
During the pastoral leadership of Reverend Sherman Thomas, Charles accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized and joined with the membership of the Rising Sun Baptist Church. He attended the public schools of Louisa County and was loved by all who knew him.
Charles was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and he loved wrestling and watching court shows on TV. Charles had a deep love for and enjoyed listening to gospel music.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents: Edith Hunter and Ralph Houchens; his daughter: Edith Haley; his siblings: Lester Hunter and Alberta Hunter; and special friend: Jacqueline Alston.
As Charles lived quietly, he quietly slipped into eternal rest with no fanfare. Left to continue this journey and to cherish Charlie Boo's precious memories are his sons: Charles (fiancé', Geneva) and Brandoneil (fiancé', Miaya); his brother: Archie; his sisters: Alice (Norman), Rebecca (Vernon), Elizabeth (Larry), Florine, and Roberta; a host of grandchildren including his devoted granddaughter: Hunter; three aunts: Bertha Davis Houchens, Hannah Hunter, and Alberta Hunter; special friend and caretaker: Deborah Haley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Rising Sun Baptist Church 6928 Fredericks Hall Road Mineral, Virginia 23117 with Rev. Walter Pleasants, Jr., and Rev. Frederick Sales, eulogist.
