Charles Edward Henson, 64, of Mineral, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the Louisa Health Care Center. He was born October 24, 1942 to the late Dorothy Henson and Robert Johnson. Charles attended Louisa County Public Schools and joined Rising Sun Baptist Church at an early age. He was employed for many years at various jobs including Holly Farms, Jo Pa Swimming Pools & Company and Tradewinds of Virginia, until his health began to fail. Charles leaves to cherish his memories four daughters, Alfreda Morris (Dean), Linda Houchens and Sheila Houchens both of Louisa and Arlene Houchens of Richmond; three sons, Jerry Houchens (Norine) of Richmond, Charles and Lance Houchens of Louisa; a loving and devoted friend of many years, Mary Houchens; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; one loving and devoted brother, Thomas Henry (Pie) Henson; two sisters, Pauline (Sally) Henson and Pearline (Sue) Henson; six aunt, Mattie Henson, Mary E. Waller (David), Alice L. Brown (Joseph), Martha Jackson (Spencer), Shirley Hunter (Lester) and Thelma Leonard (Kenneth), two uncles Lawrence Henson (Alice), and Early Johnson; three nephews Gerald (Doris), Calvin and Thomas Michael Henson; three great nieces; CeCe and Nia Henson and Morgan Cosby; four devoted cousins; Gladys Anderson, Grace A. Shelton, Tashena Anderson and Rev. Wesley Henson (BJ) of Bremo Bluff and a host of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at the University of Virginia Hospital, the staff at Louisa Health Care Center and all the caregivers of Charlottesville and Harrisonburg, Va. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Rising Sun Baptist Church Mineral, Va with Rev. Frederick Sales officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
