Cassandra Elaine Grooms was born February 14, 1972 to Alfred and Renay Grooms. She was a resident of Louisa County her entire life. She was a graduate of Louisa County High School and a member of Zion Travelers Baptist Church in Louisa, VA. Cassandra bought her home and raised her family here. She was employed with Giant Foods in Charlottesville, VA until her health failed.

Cassandra was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Renay Grooms. She leaves to cherish her memory, her father, Alfred Grooms and his wife Marion, her devoted partner, Richard Buckner and their children, Markeith Grooms (Caitlyn) and Martina Grooms; her grandchildren, Elijah Harris, Izaiah Harris, Naliyah Harris and Izabelle Harris. She also leaves her brother, Keith Quarles (Tawanda) and her sister, Fatina Grooms. Cassandra also leaves four aunts, Ruby Epps, Mary Ragland, Alberta Coffey, and Mattie Lee; four uncles, Curtis Quarles, Langston Quarles (Frances), Tyrone Quarles and Earl Grooms. She leaves one great aunt, Maureen Athy and two great uncles, Warren Mealy and Linbergh Mealy, Cassandra also leaves her nieces and nephews and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

We will miss Cassandra dearly, for she was a kind, spirited, big hearted person and whenever you saw her, was ready to strike up a conversation; whether it was about a sale at the store, some coupons you might need, an upcoming event or just to say "Hey, what you been up to?" With that being said, we find comfort in knowing Jesus and all of her love ones who had gone before her will be glad to welcome her to her new and glorious home.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2021 at Zion Travelers Baptist Church with Rev. Gilbert Bates officiating.
