Carrie Melissa Poindexter Taylor was born in Louisa, VA, August 24, 1924 to the late Aubrey Poindexter and Susie Hill.  She was a member of Foster Creek Baptist Church her entire life.

Carrie went to be with the Lord on the morning of August 23, 2020 at The Center for Acute Hospice, Charlottesville, VA.  She is pre-deceased by her husband Francis Thomas Taylor; a sister, Mary Young; brothers, Harry, Thomas, Aubrey and Charlie Poindexter; four of her children, Naomi, MaryAnn, Maurice and James Poindexter and three grandchildren.

Carrie leaves to cherish her memory, son, Aubrey Poindexter (Dorothy); daughters, Clina Avery, Lecontis Meredith, Frances and Carrie Taylor; grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relative and friends.

Graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 1 P.M. at Bright Hope Baptist Church, Poindexter Road, Louisa, VA; public viewing, Wednesday, August 26, 2020 from 4-7 p.m. at the Sun Chapel, D.D. Watson Mortician.
