Carrie "Blanche" Holland Parks departed this life on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the Louisa Healthcare Center. She was born on April 11, 1928 to the late Thomas W. and Julia M. Holland. She was educated in the Louisa County Public School system.

After graduating high school, she moved to New Jersey where she worked 46 years for Bendix Aviations. Upon her retirement, she returned to Louisa. Upon returning to Louisa, she renewed her membership with Galilee Baptist Church, where she had joined at a young age.

Blanche was preceded in death by one sister, Mattie H. Hicks and two brothers, Thomas (Dick) Holland and Phillip Holland.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Terry Parks of New Jersy; four sisters, Ruth Walker, Marjorie Fitzgerald and Jannette Kitrell – all of New Jersey and Hossiane Farrar of Louisa, VA; three brothers, Leonard Holland of New Jersey, Early Holland (Barbara) and Ronnie Holland (Phyllis) of Louisa, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 6-7pm at Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Galilee Baptist Church, Kents Store, VA with Pastor Ruben Lewis, Jr. officiating and Rev. Otis R. Spellman, eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
