Carolyn Jessie Childs, 64, of Louisa, VA, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 11, 2007. Carolyn was the third oldest of fourteen children born to the late Jessie Clyde White and the late Georgia Ellen Washington White.

Carolyn was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by four children; Lucinda Childs-White, husband Reginald, Anthony Childs, wife Teresa, Sharone Childs-Jones, husband Melvin and Kevin Childs, Wife Caroline. She had ten grandchildren: Aaron, Robert, Antwan, Courtney, Vanessa, Samantha, Reginald, Paris, Kecia and Sheresa; and one great grandchild, Samira. Carolyn had six sisters: Claudette Holland, husband Roy, Joyce Johnson, husband Chancelor, Lucille Leabough, husband, Michael, Charlotte Gordon, husband Troy Arnette White and Lisa White. She also had five brothers; John "Wayne" White, George "Wesley" White , wife Marilyn, Demetrius White, wife Laverne, Alex "Reed" White and Gary White. Two brothers preceded her in death: Randolph White and Clarence White. Carolyn's health declined over this last year and she was blessed to have a devoted caregiver, Teresa James.

Funeral services, conducted by the Reverend Charles Williams, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at Zion Travelers Baptist Church, Louisa. Interment will follow at the Washington Family Cemetery.
