Carlton Quarles Farrar, 71, of Kents Store, VA died peacefully on Monday, March 8, 2010 surrounded by his wife and sister at Martha Jefferson Hospital. Born in Fluvanna County, VA on March 12, 1938, he was the son of the late Clarence and Bessie Farrar Keys. Carlton attended the public schools of Fluvanna County, Carlton also attended Essex County College for two years.
He served his country with honor in the U.S. Army. He retired after 29 years as a bus driver with the New Jersey Transit System. He is survived by his wife, Loraine E. Farrar, two sons, Roderick Farrar and Duwayne Farrar, one brother Eugene Farrar, four sisters; Mattie Price, Lucille Bratcher. Alice Waddy and Veronica Keys, one brother-in-law Leroy Price, two grandchildren: Tiffany and Timothy, one aunt Lorraine Johnson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 12, 2010 1 p.m. at Galilee Baptist Church 3598 Three Notch Road Frencliff, VA 23053 with the Rev. Otis R. Spellman officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in the church cemetery.
