Calvin Eugene Fortune, Sr., 47 of Louisa, Virginia died on Sunday, January 8, 2012, at residence in Louisa, Virginia .

Born Saturday, March 14, 1964 in Louisa, Virginia , he was the son of Alfred S. Fortune, Sr., and Lucille Bishop Fortune. He was the husband of Carol Carter Fortune.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Shanice D. Fortune.

He was a graduate of Louisa County Public Schools and was employed by Raymond R Phillip.

He was a member of Evergreen Bible Way Church.

Calvin leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Carol Ann; son, Calvin Eugene Fortune, Jr., three brothers, Dennis Edward Fortune, Alfred Sylvester Fortune, Jr. and Daryl Ervin Fortune and his wife Donna all of Louisa, VA, two sisters, Sharon Elizabeth Fortune of Louisa, VA and Loretta Coates and her husband Terry of Waldorf, MD; mother-in-law Margaret Carter, of Louisa,VA; four brother-in-laws, Rylander Carter and wife Catherine of Gordonsville,VA; David Carter and wife Jamie of Troy, VA; Rodney Carter and wife Darlene of Kents Store,VA; and Keith Carter of Louisa,VA; one sister-in-law Julia Carter and husband Clifford of Palmyra,VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Evergreen Bible Way Church 1576 Evergreen Road Louisa, VA 23093 with Elder Steve Mason officiating. Interment will follow in the Carter family cemetery.
