Columbia - Cain "Sunny" McKnight was born in Georgetown, SC on December 14, 1943, to the late Cain McKnight, Sr., and Evangelist Lucille McCoy. He Was preceded in death by his brother, David McKnight and sister, Christina Morris and sons, Darrell and Kallid McKnight.

In his High School years, he moved to New York where he graduated from East New York Vocational & Technical H.S., Brooklyn and was a member of the U. S. Navy Reservist. He received a full scholarship to LaGuardia Academy of Aeronautics and worked for Gruman Aircraft. He then moved to the NYC Department of Correction from which he retired 20 years later. In 1998 he and his wife, Diane, moved to Columbia VA and joined Galilee Baptist Church Louisa.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Diane, of 33 years, one sister, Barbara (Leroy) Keith-South Carolina; brothers Elder Samuel (Dawn) Morris, Joseph McCoy, Robert (Yemary) McCoy and Travis McCoy of New York; His children James McKnight-New York; Antonia Boone-South Carolina; Joseph McKnight-New York; William McKnight-California; Stephanie McKnight-New York and DawnAsia McKnight of Virginia; 8 grandchildren and one great-grandchild and a host of uncles, one aunt, cousins nieces, nephews and their children.
