Betty Christine Robinson was set free to be with her Heavenly Father on February 3,
2012. She was born to the late Homer Lewis Robinson, Sr. and Rosetta Banks Robinson.
She is survived by one brother Homer L. Robinson, Jr., (Patricia) two sisters, Ruth Baugh
(Robert) and Rosetta Robinson, nephews, Matthew Robinson, and Christopher Robinson,
niece, Lynette Robinson Satterfield (Antoine), great nephew, Kevin Robinson, close
cousins, Terry Dandridge and Chairie Smith. She accepted Christ during Revival in the
60's.
Betty's love for singing and leadership could be seen and heard on the Rosetta Banks
Robinson Memorial chorus, which she served as President. Betty was dedicated to her
church, participated and attended rehearsals and church services on a regular basis. She
was also a member of the First Aid Ministry and Drama Ministry.
Betty loved teaching physical education. Her goal was not only improving fitness levels,
but also teaching life skills. She taught and coached with her sister (Rosetta) three years
in the Louisa County Schools system, and fours years in the catholic schools in
Richmond (St. Benedictine). During this time, she went back to school and received her
Master's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation. She later became an employee of United
Parcel Service. She started off as a part-time car washer and. was later promoted to "On
Road Supervisor". She was also a part of the Business Development for UPS. She was
employed by UPS, nineteen years. Betty was never afraid of work and the challenge of
proving herself. She believed in excellence whatever the task.
She later moved to Alexander and became an employee of the City of Alexander School
System where she also worked part-time with the Therapeutic Recreation Program. Betty
enjoyed her job, the children and those who became her "Special Buddies". She shared
many special events and memories.
Betty believed in family unity and deeply loved her family. She often provided vacation
packages, financial support, and above all emotional and spiritual support. She has
touched the lives of many, young and old.
How do we say "Good-Bye ... We can't-We will say: "SEE YOU
LATER BETTY"
Funeral services will be held at noon, Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at New Line Baptist Church, 4876 New Line Road Gum Spring,VA 23065; viewing from 10:30 a.m to noon.
