On Wednesday, May 6, 2009, Bert Lewis Williams departed this
life at the Louisa Health Care Center at the age of 84 wonderful years.
He was born on March 19, 1925 to the late Charlie and Mary
Ethel Williams in Buckner, Virginia. In addition to his parents, he
was predeceased by four infant brothers and one sister, Martha E. W.
Coleman.
Bert was baptized at an early age at Mount Garland Baptist
Church.
He was educated in the Louisa County Public School and
worked for several saw mill businesses in the county.
Bert was a family historian and he loved to talk about the old
times.
He is survived by four sisters; Lucille Moody, Mary Perkins, Alice
Johnson and Addie Medina; two brothers, Fred Williams and Marvin
Williams; one brother-in-law, James W. Johnson, Sr.; a host of nieces,
nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends; one
devoted niece, Mary O. Jackson; three devoted cousins, James Gardner,
Clarence Thomas, Sr. and Lawrence Coleman and five special friends,
Samuel Graves, Wallace West, Martha Wood, Lionel Wood and Samuel Perry.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 1PM at Mount Garland Baptist Church 4000 Buckner Road Bumpass, Virginia 23024 with the Rev. Floyd Roane officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
