In loving memory of our mother, Beatrice Mealy Harris, who gathered her wings and answered a call back home to be with the lord on May 6, 2023. She is the devoted wife of John Wiley Harris Jr. and loving mother of Dontá Maurice Harris ("Bo") & Dhani-Sinaan K.S. Mharshelle Harris ("Shel"). She is survived by many loving individuals, including her mother Irma Mealy, her father, Warren Mealy, her sisters Carolyn, Deanna, Denise, and Ophelia, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be sorely missed by all who were blessed enough to know her.

Our mother was the kindest, most caring, loving and giving person we know who always put the needs of her family & friends before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage, dignity, humility, class and let's not forget style. Our mother was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be sorely missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

Growing up, Bea was always there for us, whether we needed help with our homework, needed advice on life matters, someone to go to battle for us, or just a shoulder to cry on. She was a fierce woman of strong faith and she instilled in us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. Our mother was a true role model who we will always look up to. Her most recent battle with pancreatic cancer was a true testimony of her strength & resiliency that has made a lasting impression on complete strangers, our friends &  family, as well as our ancestors.

The funeral service will be held at 2pm at County Line Baptist Church in Kents Store, Virginia, on Saturday, May 13, 2023. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to NUTRITIONFACTS.ORG, a science-based nonprofit organization which provides fact-based information on the benefits of a plant-based diet for wellness, a cause Bea deeply cared about.

Mother, you will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in peace, pleasure, pride and power.
