Barbara Gordon Barbour , passed away on Monday evening, September 27, 2021, at her home in Columbia, Maryland, with her daughter, Natalie McAdoo-Howard by her side. She was 79 years old.

Barbara was born on July 1, 1942 to William Gordon and Goldie Gordon James. A studious learner from an early age, Barbara received her BS in Business & Management from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1976. Even as she juggled work and raising a young daughter, Barbara's passion to expand her college education concluded with a master's degree in Public Policy Management and Planning from The University of Southern California. Barbara was also a member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority.

During a versatile and impressive career, Barbara served our country at the NSA for over two decades and following her retirement, she started a full a time career at Long and Foster, where she became a top selling Realtor. Other endeavors included a professorship at Montgomery College, her own firm as a business consultant, and numerous certifications.

Barbara's passions included outings and quality time with friends and family, the beach, loving on her grandchildren, and above all praising the Lord.

She is survived by daughter, Natalie and her husband, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a multitude of cousins, friends, and coworkers to cherish her memories and preserve her life lessons.

A graveside service will be on October 16th 2021 at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Orange, Virginia at 11AM. Well-wishes may be sent to 6925 Oakland Mills Rd, #362, Columbia MD 21045 c/o Natalie McAdoo-Howard.
