Austin Sayer Morris, Jr. departed this life on December 14, 2011 at the University of Virginia hospital. He was born in Newark, N.J. on January 29, 1951 to the late Austin Sayer Morris, Sr. and the Ruby McDowell of East Brunswick, N.J.

He graduated from A.G. Richardson High School and attended Virginia State University.

Austin was a member of the Epworth Manor apartments family for over 20 years. He is known for lending and helping hand to anyone who needed it. His welcoming smile and hearty laugh will be missed byall.

Austin preceded in death by his father. Austin S. Morris, Sr., stepmother Bessie A. Morris, paternal grandparents Alice Morris and James S. Morris, two aunts Mabel Byrd, and Virginia Pratt, one uncle James A. Morris Sr., a brother Richard A. Morris and a sister Cynthia Cameron.

Austin is survived by one aunt Elizabeth Lawrence of Burlington, N.J, and one uncle Billy Morris of Orange, N.J.

Morris (Colleen) of Harrisonburg, VA, Roland, Jr. and Ali McDowell both of Newark, N.J. sisters: Sherika Morris-Wilkerson (Tony) of Orange, VA , Carolyn McDowell of Monroe, N.J., Jackie McDowell of Newark, N.J., Alisha McDowell of Newark, N.J. and Barbara Johnson of Charlottesville, VA
Nieces: Akia Morris and Ashley Tobe of Harrisonburg, VA. , Chynna Wells of Orange, VA.
Nephews: Gyuine Wilkerson of Orange, VA., Rodney (Collin) Morris of Harrisonburg, VA. and Stuart Morris of Richmond, VA.
And a host of cousins and friends. Special friends include John : "June" Epps and Hoye Hott.

Funeral Service will be held at Zion Travelers Baptist Church in Louisa at 12 noon on Thursday, December 22, 2011, with the Rev. Austin G. Bates, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
