ARCHIE FLEMING DANDRIDGE JR.

Archie Fleming Dandridge entered into eternal rest on June 2, 2017 at his residence in Henrico, VA. He was born on June 23, 1936 in Louisa, Virginia to Archer Fleming Dandridge and Mary Logan Dandridge, the ninth of thirteen children.

At an early age, he joined the New Line Baptist Church. Later, after moving to Philadelphia, PA, he attended Enon Baptist Church.

In 1957, he married Mary Elizabeth Thomas. To this union two children were born.

He was a hard working man that focused on providing for his family. In 1998, after 40 years of employment, Archie retired from Nabisco in Philadelphia, PA.

Archie loved his family and friends. He never met a stranger. To meet him was to love him. He was such a blessing to his family and always delighted in being together with them.

When his family and friends would visit, he would strive to make them comfortable. Making sure they had plenty to eat and somewhere to stay.

Archie leaves to cherish the memories, his wife of 60 years, Mary; his two children, Donna Dandridge and Rickie Dandridge; four sisters, Rosa Brown, Ruth Dandridge, Vernel Dandridge and Mary Eva Matthews (Mervin); three sisters-n-law, Iola Dandridge,Louise Thomas Welch. and Gloria Dandridge; a close friend Emory McFadden "Mac" a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017 at New Line Baptist Church 4876 New Line Road Gum Spring, VA 23085 with Rev. Pastor J.R. Coney, officiating and Pastor Mark K. Brown as eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
