On Friday morning, January 22, 2016, God dispatched his darling angel from heaven and gently took the hand of our dearly-loved one, a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Great-aunt, a caring cousin and a true friend – Anttionette Michelle "Buffy" Smith.
Anttionette was the youngest of four children and born to Deloris G. Thompson and the late Charles A. Thompson, Sr., on December 28, 1968. Anttionette attended public schools in Prince Georges County, graduating from Forestville Senior High; and continued her education to receive a Master's degree in Art Management.
Anttionette joined the Office of Personnel Management at an early age of 17 and worked her way up to Deputy Program Manager.
Anttionette met Joseph Smith and of that union they had two beautiful children, Joseph Smith, Jr., and Taylor Smith.
Anttionette leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Joseph Smith, Jr. of Laurel, Maryland, and Taylor Smith of Brandywine, Maryland; two grandkids, Skylar and Zoë Smith; her mother, Deloris G. Thompson; three brothers, Larry (Twanda) Thomasson of Louisa, VA, Clinton (Angela) Thomasson of District Heights, MD, Charles (Kiana) Thompson, Jr., of Waldorf, MD; three aunts, Eunice (Ronald) Lewis of Clinton, MD, LaVerne (Tonny) Harris of Fredrick, MD, Earline Hembry of Hampton, VA; and many devoted nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and "A SPECIAL FRIEND", Noel Jamison.
There will never be another - forever, honored and favored. Her life was one of great triumph.
Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, February 1, 2016 Temple of Deliverance HCG, Inc., 5756 Zachary Taylor Highway Mineral,Virginia 23117. Elder Morgan Clark, Presiding and the Reverend Tonny Harris, Eulogist. Interment will follow in the Wayland Baptist Church Cemetery.
