We are saddened to announce the passing of Annie Virginia Waddy , on September 27, 2024. Born in Louisa, VA on November 16, 1932, to the late Watson and Marie Waddy, Annie lived a life full of resilience and grace. Ann resided in Bumpass VA, on 609, Buckner Rd all of her life until she went to live with her granddaughter in Georgia. She never married, choosing instead to dedicate her life to her family, her community, and her church.

Her devotion was exemplified through her lifelong membership at Mt. Garland Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess, Missionary, and a dedicated Sunday School member. She enjoyed taking part in many facets of the church from cleaning to being a part of the kitchen staff. If the church doors were open you knew Ann was there somewhere.

Ann was educated in the Louisa County School system and was employed with Holly Farms-Tyson Foods until her retirement. Annie was a cornerstone of her community, always willing to lend a hand or share a comforting word. Serving her community came, when she and her dearest friend, Peggy Albright Adopted A Highway and vowed to keep it clean.

Annie's life was a radiant tapestry woven with threads of love, faith, and commitment. She is survived by her loving granddaughter, Rebecca and her husband, Anthony Lemons; her sister; Rena Waddy, and her brother, David Waddy and his wife Francis. She now joins her beloved parents, Watson and Marie Waddy; her cherished. daughter Rosa Waddy, her adored grandson, Sylvester Waddy, and her siblings, Elsie Jackson, Maude Jackson, Levester, Richard, Morris, and Powell Waddy, who all preceded her in death.

A special thanks goes to Patricia Jackson and William Jackson for their love when Ann was still living in Virginia and to Melinda Black who never failed to call and check in on her. The family would also like to thank Agape Hospice Care who help make her final days at home comfortable.

Homegoing services will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Mt. Garland Baptist Church, 4000 Buckner Road, Bumpass, Virginia with Rev. Donald M. Fells officiating. Internment will follow in the church cemetery.

To the Waddy family, we at D. D. Watson offer our most sincere sympathy and condolences. Our prayer continues to be that your abiding faith in God will lend a measure of comfort that will strengthen and sustain you during your time of sorrow.

POEM OF LIFE
Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay…

Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.

And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord.
