Annie Porter Price , 100 of Louisa, VA departed this life on January 18, 2024. Mom, Mama, Granny, Grandma, Mother Price, "Aunt Tata" as she was fondly known, lived her entire life in Louisa County, a testament to her deep love for her community and roots. In her century-long life, she witnessed the world evolve and change, yet she remained the constant, heartwarming presence in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Annie Porter Price was born in Louisa, Virginia on December 22, 1923, to the late John and Allie Timberlake Price. She attended the Louisa County Training School. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, was baptized, and joined the County Line Baptist Church in Kent Store, Virginia. As an active member, she served as a member of the Senior Choir, and as a Deaconess. She was like a tree planted by the rivers of water, rooted in love and service to her Lord and Savior.  She was a dependable servant of God, dedicating her service to church, family, and her community.

Annie married James Allen Price on October 12, 1940. To this union were born nine children. She was a sweet, kind, and caring mother, devoted to her family. She loved and supported them every day of her life. Annie served the Webber, Scott, and Dudley family with dedication until her retirement as a domestic worker. Her work was not merely a job but her way of extending her love and care to others. Annie left an indelible mark on the hearts of all those she encountered.

She was very proud of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and family, always encouraging them to do their best.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; James Allen Price; son Larry Price; daughter; Christine Price Moore; Granddaughter; Melissa Hembry-Cannon, Grandsons; Randell Price and Johnathan Price, Sisters; Sarah Price, Emily Price, and Dorothy Johnson; Brothers; Marion Price, Arsey Price, and John Henry Price, Daughter-in-Law; Irene Price, Son-in-Laws; Ronald Morris, Luciene Morris, Dale Barbour, Micheal Terrell Sr; and a special nephew Reverend James Graves.

She leaves to cherish her memories seven daughters: Jeannette (David) Hughes of Charlottesville, VA, Jean Morris of Gordonsville, VA, Jacqueline Morris of Goochland, VA, Rosemary Price of Keswick, VA, Mary Barbour of Palmyra, VA, Betty Price of Charlottesville, VA and Sandra Terrell of Gordonsville, VA. 21 Grandchildren, 59 Great Grandchildren and 40 Great-Great Grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 27, 2024, at County Line Baptist Church, 4070 County Line Road, Kents Store, VA 23084. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
