Deacon Annie D. (Sue) Moore 86, departed this life on the evening of July 8, 2016, at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. Annie was born September 17, 1929 the daughter of the late Willie and Mildred Johnson Green.

Annie joined the Rising Sun Baptist Church at an early age. After joining holy matrimony with Arthur, they moved to Washington D.C. During that time she became member and Deacon of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church under the leadership of Senior Pastor Dr. Leroy Gilbert. Annie worked for the Government Services and retired after twenty-five years of loyal service. Annie loved shopping, bus trips and vacationing with her Virginia family yearly.

Annie was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Moore; son, Robert (Bobby) Moore; two sisters, Naomi B. Austin and Lydia M. Henson and two brothers, Emmet Green and Peter Green.

Annie leaves to cherish her memories: a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; one sister –in-law, Gertrude Wickham Moore of Mineral VA; three devoted nieces, Jennett (Jen), Leslie and Nakia (Nikki); one devoted nephew Otis Jr. (Mutt) and her Christian family and friends of Mt Gilead Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Rising Sun Baptist Church with Rev. Frederick Sales officiating and Rev. Patrician McCullum eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
