Allen Lewis Shelton, "Duke" formally of Louisa County peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 15, 2010 in Burkeville, VA.
He was born to the late Joe and Nannie Harris Shelton. In addition to his parents, three brothers, Alfred, Clyde, and Samuel Shelton, three sisters, Lucille Mallory, Evelyn Shelton, and Deloris Lewis, one grandson, Wayne Waddy preceded him in death.
He attended Louisa Public Schools and joined County Line Baptist Church at an early age. He worked in the lumber industry and later was self-employed as a logger until his health began to fail.
He was previously married to Martha B. Coleman Shelton.
Survivors include his six children, Deanna Waddy (Lewis), Eddie Shelton, Martha Ann Shelton, Pearl Clark, Wayne and Amanda Payne. His seven grandchildren, Maurice Shelton, Quianna Clark, DiAndra Coleman, LaTisha Payne, Kendra, Chelsea, and Clarence Waddy. His three great grandchildren, Tatiana Eubanks, Ma' Shayla Hearns, and Aquirah Battle. His sister, Reverend Pearl Mallory of Washington, D.C. His close family friends Barry Holland and Roger Saunders. His companion, Eva Rollins. A devoted cousin, Frances Mitchell. His devoted friends, Lisa Coles and Otis Waddy. Five nephews, James Jr, Arthur, Leonard and Calvin Mallory, Barry and Joseph Shelton. Four nieces, Lola, Kathleen and Zelma Mallory and Patsy Lewis. In addition to a host of other cousins and friends.
We will always remember him by his long conversations, laughter, and smile. Take your rest Daddy we love you.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel.
Interment will be in Mitchell Family Cemetery.
