IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alice Isabell
Robinson
September 2, 1928 – August 24, 2020
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have passed away, behold all things have become new".
"Her Children arise up and call her blessed, her husband also and he praises her. Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."
Mother Alice Isabell (Jackson) Robinson, affectionately known as "Mama" to many who knew her, made a peaceful transition to be with the Lord on
August 24, 2020, at the age of 91. She was born September 2, 1928 in Louisa County, Virginia to the late Alice Jackson. She was the second oldest of four children.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Francis Anderson, her brothers, James Davis and Henry Jackson; one son, Dec. Joseph (Ike) Jackson and his beloved wife, Theresa Jackson.
Mama was ready to go to her eternal home with the Lord. In her words, "I'm ready. I'm going to be with the King." Mama's greatest joy was serving the Lord and she enjoyed getting dressed-up and bringing God her best. She had such a presence that she would warm any room or audience.
Her legacy was cooking, family get-togethers and fellowship. She was the matriarch of the family and everyone was part of it; no one was a stranger. Mama thrived on bringing family and friends together by cooking them the best soul food, cakes and pies. Although all her food was mouth-watering, people often made special requests for her macaroni-and-cheese with tomatoes, caramel cakes and sweet potato pies. Mama always made plenty of food during Sunday and holiday dinners for her large family and many friends in the local church community.
Mama also affectionately adopted many who were motherless as her own, such as Elder Burnette and Darlene Adams. She had the biggest heart and loved everyone unconditionally.
She Leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, William Robinson, four sons, Peter Jackson (Jean), Robert Jackson (Myrtle), Jessie Jackson (Annette) and Dwain Jackson (Karen); four daughters, Brenda Syrkes, Barbara McKenney, Alice Houchens (Walter) and Virginia Winn (Sherman); forty-one remarkable grandchildren, seventy-eight beautiful great-grandchildren and twenty-six precious great-great grandchildren; two aunts, Anne and BabySis, and a pleather of nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers in love along with many other family members and friends.
