Alice Jean Coleman was born September 13, 1934 in Mineral, Virginia to the late Edward Coleman and Alice Haynes. Alice was raised into a faithful Christian Family. There she joined New Anna Baptist church, where she also attended primary school in Mineral. Due to the south's Jim Crow law, her parents decided to send her to Boston, Massachusetts to further her education at the age of 14.

Under the guardianship of her Aunt Mary Temple in the South End of Boston, she joined Ebenezer Baptist church and attended Girls High School in 1951.  Upon graduating High School in 1953 a desire to help others called her to enroll in the New England School of Nursing.

In 1957 she married (late) Wasten Clark of Savannah, Georgia. From that union came the (late) Gregory, (late) Anthony and James Clark. With the security of her children first, a strong second was Christian faith and education.

A marriage to the (late) Samuel Wiggins in 1964 instilled Christians values along with hard work, Sunday school was to be just as important as public school.

In 1965 she started working at Shawmut Bank as a teller and quickly rose to supervisor where she stayed for 32 years. Upon retirement in 1992 she moved to Norwood, Massachusetts with friend Furman Griffin. They enjoyed traveling to Bahamas, San Francisco, Poconos and drives to see the fall foliage in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. One of her most precious leisure activities was reading the Sunday Boston Globe, cooking Sunday dinner and a fan of all sports Boston, none bigger than the Boston Celtics.

The ever-faithful daughter returned to her home in Virginia yearly until her illness 2017. The love, time and memories with Alice Jean Coleman-Wiggins are everlasting and she will forever be missed. Leaving to cherish her memory; Son James E Clark (Connie), two grandchildren Andra and Bernard Inniss of Maryland, Brother-in-Law Richard Wiggins of Boston, Sister-in-law Carolyn Parker, Niece Sheila Haynes of New Jersey, beloved Goddaughters Cheryl Stillwell, Judy Robinson and devoted friends Othella Hawthorne, Bernadine Sapp of Boston. And host of relatives and friends.
