Alice Mildred Anderson was born June 9, 1934 in Louisa County. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Bumpass, VA ., and later became a faithful servant at Philippi Christian Church in Mineral, VA.
She worked diligently, and held multiple positions in service for the Lord. She was President of the Usher Board, President of the Combined Choir, Member of the Missionary Society, and Sponsor of the Annual Friends and Family Day .
She was educated in the Louisa County Public School System.
In 1952 Alice married William Henry Anderson of Louisa County. Together, they had five children. She continued to work hard, and strengthen her commitment to God and to the Church. She was also a long time dedicated member of the Eastern Star .
Alice grew up sewing, and making beautiful handmade quilts throughout her lifetime. She was able to apply this skill while working for Louisa Manufacturing Company, until she retired.
Alice loved people, and she was easy to love. She was a kind, loyal, and loving friend who would never say a harsh word about anyone. She maintained close ties with all of her relatives and her friends. Alice entered the beautiful gates of heaven on Sunday, January 10, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents: Alice Cornilia Dailey and James Earley Jackson . Her devoted companion: Henry Houchens, her husband: William Henry Anderson , her siblings: Minister Ada Davis, Patience Loftin , and Walter Jackson. And her three sons: William, John, and Jerome Anderson.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: Her daughter: Evarn Canada (John Wayne) of Richmond, VA. Her son: Dale Anderson (Sylvia) of Mineral, VA. Six Grandchildren: Antoine Lewis, Dale Anderson Jr., Felicia Carter, James Anderson, Lashonna McClary , and Neil Reddick. Eight Great Grandcildren : Aneasha , Aniyah, Atkins, Brooklyn, Jazhaun , Karsyn, Topanga. One devoted: Jaezon Carter Devoted Friends: Cora Russell and Shirley Pace, Devoted Sister-In-Law: Angie Anderson Devoted Son: Larry Shelton, Devoted Son, and Beloved Pastor Temple E. Anderson, Sr . A host of devoted nieces and nephews. And many, many relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the Sun Chapel, D. D. Watson, Louisa. Interment will follow in the family cemetery.
*Due to COVID 19 restrictions the funeral service is limited to fifty immediate family members. *FOR YOUR SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF THOSE IN ATTENDANCE, MASKS AND/OR SHIELDS MUST BE WORN TO ENTER THE FUNERAL HOME. Again, God bless each of you.
