Alex Washington, Jr. born on February 18, 1949 in Louisa, VA to the late Alex Sr. and Alice Washington.  He departed this life on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C.

Alex attended school in Louisa, VA and later relocated to Washington, D.C. where he was employed with several agencies as a vehicle (truck) operator.  He retired from work in 2010.  While in Washington, he attended St. John's Christian Power Church.

He enjoyed his family tremendously and was a dedicated Washington Redskins fan.  He loved James Brown, western cowboy movies and performing as a DJ at his famous cookouts.  Most importantly, he loved the Lord.  Alex was a people person and he loved joking, talking "trash" and being the life of the party.  Within our lives as well as our hearts, he will trulybe missed.

He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories, his devoted wife, Paulette Washington; his children, Greg Washington, Sharon Brandon (James), Katrina Pearson (Anthony), Kevin Washington,  Arnez Washington, Tyrone Washington, Connell Washington and Tia and Tenasia Miller; a host of stepchildren; fourteen grandchildren, Marcus, Travis, James, Jamese' and Janese' Brandon, Shrese, Karen and Bria Washington, Dante' and Da'von Pearson, Nina and Tali Washington, Serenity Lassiter and Faith Tutt.  Alex also leaves to cherish his memory, Donnell, Rebecca, John, Brenda Lewis, Linda, Tony, Madeline, Sandra Subahwon and Deborah Webb. There are also four great grandchildren as well as a host of many nieces and nephews of whom he loved them all in his own very special way, which was noted by giving them necknames.  He also leaves a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.                                                                                                                                                                                                     Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, April 28, 2014 at Standing on the Promises of God Church, 1201 Waldrop Church Rd, Louisa, VA 23093 with the Reverend Larry Holt, Sr. officiating.  Interment will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery.

Viewing will begin on Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 3-7 p.m. at Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the start of services on Monday.
