Alberta Lee Johnson , passed away at her residence on Saturday, July 22, 2023.

She was born on January 29, 1930 in Louisa, VA, she was the sixth of seven children born to the late Harry and Emma Brooks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie, and two sons, Herman and Anthony. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ulysses and Nathaniel Brooks; three sisters Mary Daniels, Louise Robinson and Sadie Johnson.

Alberta joined Thessalonia Baptist Church at an early age. After graduating from A.G. Richardson, she moved to D.C. for a short time. She came back to Louisa, where she married and started a family.

She leaves to cherish her memory one brother, Harry Brooks. Seven children, Charles Johnson (Cathy) of Modesto, CA, Carl Johnson (Felicia) of Hampton, VA, Harry Johnson of Louisa, VA, Linda McCaskill of Mechanicsville, VA, Alan Johnson (Aida) of Spotsylvania, VA, Joyce White (Elwood Jr), VA and John Johnson (CiCi) of Spotsylvania, VA. Fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren, two great grand children that didn't survive. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.

The family will receive friends from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. on Friday, July 28th in The Sun Chapel D.D. Watson, Louisa.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Thessalonia Baptist Church, Mineral, VA with interment in the Johnson Family Cemetery.
