Albert M Hackney, 84 of Providence, Rhode Island, formerly of Louisa, died on Thursday, October 21, 2010.
Born Monday, February 22, 1926 in Louisa, Virginia, he was the husband of Maude Boggs Hackney.
He served in the Army from 1944 until 1946.
He was a member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are son, Herbert Hackney; daughters, Bretha Barney, June Prim, Barbara Mitchell, Joyce Turner, Gloyce Hackney, Carol Hackney and Shirley Hackney-Samy; sister, Elise Hamlett; one aunt, Edith Mickens, and a host of grands and great-grands, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Laurel Hill Baptist Church, 7652 Kentucky Spring Road, Mineral, VA 23117 with the Rev. Barbara Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 p.m. until the hour of services. Public viewing will begin on Friday, October 29, 2010 from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Church Cemetery, Mineral, VA.
